PRE-PRIMARY AVIARY
At present the Pre-Primary School aviary is acting as a rehabilitation centre for a Laughing Dove who cannot fly properly at the moment due to missing wing and tail feathers (no laughing matter)!
All that is required to remedy this is a good rest while the feathers grow back again.
Yet another amazing chapter for the children to observe in our ‘Aviary Annual’!

HIGH SCHOOL - THANK YOU
To all who so generously donated cooked mincemeat and blanket squares in support of our Co-Workers at the High School, please accept our most grateful thanks.

‘MAKRO’ AND ‘MY SCHOOL’ CARDS
Please remember to swipe your cards when shopping, as every time you do so it helps accumulate points for our school.

ToysRus has a lucky draw on until the end of May 2010. Every swipe of your MySchool card gives you an entry into the lucky draw!

Remember to get your PHOTOBOOK CD for R25,00 from Mrs Tait at the Primary School Reception.

WHAT IS THE ‘MFG’?
The Marist Family Group aims to improve relationships and communication between parents and educators. MFG aims to give all parents a voice on all non-academic issues within the school. Class representatives serve as a channel for all parents to voice concerns, queries and ensure clear and concise communication.

The group meets ± twice a term and all parents are welcome to attend. If you are not yet on the mailing list of your respective class representative but would like to be informed of general ‘goings-on’ at the school, please contact Ms Thackwray on 011 435 0646/7

COINS FOR CONSERVATION
Mrs Durand and Mrs Bolland have embarked on collecting coins for The Endangered Wildlife Trust as their outreach for this term.

Any coins you are willing to donate will go towards sustaining our threatened species and ecosystems.

THERAPY SPOT
CARD GAMES
A pack of cards can be used in many different ways – sorting, counting, matching games (clock and snap) and memory games. All these stimulate fine motor skills in holding and turning the cards and cognitive and perceptual skills in using them.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
True success is not necessarily about being the best at all cost. It’s about DOING your best at all times. If you do that long enough, who knows, you might just end up being the best.
