1. From the desktop, right-click and go to "Properties" on the pop-up menu.

2. A window titled "Display properties" will come up.

3. Click on the "Settings" tab.

4. Under the "Screen resolution" adjust the slider bar until it reads "1024 x 768 pixels"

5. Click the "Apply" button.

6. Your monitor resolution will re-configure and a pop-up window titled "Monitor settings" will come up saying: "Your desktop has been reconfigured. Do you want to keep these settings?" Click the "Yes" button.

7. In the "Display properties" box, click the "OK" button.

8. Your monitor has now been set to a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
