“High-performing education systems stand out with clear and ambitious standards that are shared across the system, focus on the acquisition of complex, higher-order thinking skills, and are aligned with high stakes gateways and instructional systems.”

Marist Brothers Linmeyer 2011 Matric Results

We had 102 candidates writing a total of 726 subjects in Matric in 2011.
A 100% pass rate was achieved with 81 students passing with a Bachelor Degree level.

  • One student achieved 8 distinctions, one achieved 6 distinctions, 3 achieved 5 distinctions and 8 achieved 4 distinctions.
  • 72% wrote Core Mathematics compared to 65% of students writing in other Independent IEB Schools.

SUBJECT ACHIEVEMENTS

BUSINESS STUDIES:
We achieved an average 15% above the IEB average with 31% of the students achieving distinctions and 38 % achieving a B.

MATHEMATICS:
30 Mathematics related distinctions were achieved. 36% of students doing Maths Optional Paper 3 (Probability, Data handling, & Geometry) achieved a distinction and 36% achieved a B.

LIFE ORIENTATION:
43% of our Matrics obtained distinctions and 33% obtained a B.

LIFE SCIENCES:
36% of our students achieved a distinction and 35% achieved a B.

DRAMATIC ARTS:
50% of the students achieved a distinction or a B. 22 % received an A and 28% received a B.

CIVIL TECHNOLOGY:
60% of these students achieved an A or B. 40% achieved an A.
